Where you’ll be
You’ll be staying in Waiyevo village, in the heart of Taveuni. The homestay sits on a gentle slope with views of coconut plantations and ocean in the distance. The area is quiet, green, and deeply rooted in local culture — with churches, schools, and family farms nearby. Popular sites like the Waitavala Waterslide, Lavena Coastal Walk, and Bouma Falls are within reach — either by local bus or arrangement with the host.
- Taveuni is accessible by both air and sea from Viti Levu. Once on the island, your host can help arrange transfers or guide you to the homestay via local transport.
- From Matei Airport, hop on a local minivan headed towards Waiyevo. Ask the driver to stop near the Waiyevo Primary School turnoff. Your host can meet you there. From the ferry terminal, local buses are available but may run on island time — budget extra time or check with your host for best schedules.
- If you’ve rented a car from Matei, head south along the coastal road. At Waiyevo junction, turn inland towards the school. Delana Homestay is about 3 minutes up the gravel road. There is parking available at the homestay.
